CUET celebrates 50 years of receiving Joliot-Curie Peace Medal by Bangabandhu
Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology (CUET) has celebrated the 50th years since Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman received the 'Joliot-Curie' Peace Medal following the instructions of the government. On this occasion today 23 May (Tuesday) 2023 AD. At 12:00 o'clock in the academic council room of the university, the chief guest was the vice chancellor of CUET Dr. Mohammad Rafiqul Alam.
Director of Student Welfare Prof. Dr. Md. Rezaul Karim presided over the function while, the Dean of Engineering and Technology Faculty Dr. Sunil Dhar, Dean of the Faculty of Civil Engineering Dr. Md. Moinul Islam, the newly appointed dean of the Faculty of Electrical and Computer Technology Dr. Mohammad Samsul Arefin were present as special guests at the event.
Member Secretary of National Day Celebration Committee, Dean and Registrar (Additional Duty) of Faculty of Mechanical Engineering Dr. Sheikh Mohammad Humayun Kabir delivered a welcome speech on the occasion.
The former president of CUET Teachers' Association Professor Dr. Sajal Chandra Banik, General Secretary of the Officers Association EngineerMd. Mokbul Hossain and the president of the staff association Mr. Md. Jamal Uddin also spoke at the event. The program was conducted by Deputy Director (Information and Publication) Mr. Mohammad Fazlur Rahman and Assistant Registrar (Coordination) Mr. Muhammad Rashedul Islam.
At the beginning of the program, a documentary film was presented on the occasion of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's Homecoming Day. Teachers, officials and employees of the university participated in the discussion meeting.
